Missing That High

Good Morning!!!

Did you have a good Valentine’s Day? Are you drowning in chocolate and sweets? I feel like I am.

We had a baby shower for one of my co-workers today and we had to guess how many dum dums were in the glass boot. Guess who won? Yours truly. I have 95 dum dums to eat.

Plus, along with winning the glass boot full of dum dums, I got another little present.

Everyone also received some yummy Boehm’s chocolates! I can feel my pants getting tighter…

Oh man, I need to hide these treats so that I don’t eat them all in a week. If I haven’t told you already, I tend to hide candy so that I don’t eat it all the time and when I find it, I get super excited. Yes, I am weird.

Since the days have been getting longer, I’ve been thinking more and more about running. I’ve been missing that runner’s high. It’s been a week since I went on my last run.

007Running in the Winter is the hardest for me. Yes, I am a wimp, I don’t like to run in the downpour, snow, crazy wind or freezing temps. Maybe I should move to Arizona, where I would probably only complain about the heat.

Due to the lack of running on a consistent basis, I am missing the following:

1. The runner’s high. I want that endless feeling where nothing can stop me.

2. Sculpted legs. All those muscle start toning up and showing more.

3. The endurance

4. The flatter abs

5. The tan. Yes, after spending hours outside in the sun.

6. The peace. That time where I can zone out and just go.

Even though, I am not running like I typically do during training season (Spring/Summer) I am trying to continue with cross training. However, I did take a break from Flywheel which has been the best form of cross training for keeping my endurance levels high. I guess I’ve been deconditioning or detraining, but it hasn’t been intentional….

On Wednesday and Thursday, I took a Flywheel class and I could tell that my endurance levels weren’t where they have been in the past. Taking a few weeks off showed. Bummer! Apparently, there is work to be done!

Now, I need to put together a schedule that balances between Flybarre, Flywheel, weight training, running and other forms of cardio. I’ll get right to that…. :)
