What is the 2026 Resolution Run 5k and Polar Bear Dive event?
The Resolution Run is a 5K run/walk and finish festival celebrating the start of the New Year, with an optional Polar Plunge into Lake Washington.

Location & Course Map
The race takes place at the Magnuson Park Boat Launch, within Magnuson Park in Seattle. The course is mostly flat with a total elevation gain of 81 feet, with one small hill at 1.2 miles. The course is a mix of asphalt and gravel.
Directions (Google Maps, Apple Maps): Navigate to Sand Point Way NE & NE 65th St. Turn into Magnuson Park on NE 65th going East. Follow the road to the water.

Venue Details
At Warren G. Magnuson Park, you’ll find more than four miles of walking trails along the shores of Lake Washington, grassy fields, evergreen and deciduous trees and brush, and captivating public art installations. Located along a splendid mile-long stretch of Lake Washington’s shoreline in northeast Seattle, it is Seattle’s second-largest park, encompassing 350 acres.
Magnuson Park boasts many landmarks and historical sites that prominently display Art Deco-style architecture. The park’s Historic District features more than 20 brick and metal structures built in the 1930s and 1940s, recalling the park’s history as a Naval airfield.
Magnuson also has a huge variety of amenities and features such as sports fields, a community garden, a wetland habitat, trails, boat launch, a community center, swimming beach, and more!
